2025–2026 Ice Dragon Super League (Tonghua Huinan Station) Grand Opening— Secret Ice Wonderland, Joyful Tour in Huinan, Creating a New Year Sports-Culture-Tourism Feast

With the theme of Mysterious Ice Wonderland, Joyful Tour in Huinan, the event inherits the intense competition of previous sessions, and integrates parades, galas, tourism experiences and live broadcasts. It presents a grand New Year festival featuring ice scenery, culture and joy for audiences and tourists across the country.

Guided by the International Ice Dragon Boat Federation and China Culture Industries Promotion Association, this event is co-hosted by the Dragon 

Boat Culture Professional Committee of China Culture Industries Promotion Association and Jilin Provincial Sports Bureau, and undertaken by Huinan 

Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism.

Leaders and guests including Luo Zhongyi, President of the International Ice Dragon Boat Federation and President of the Dragon Boat Culture Professional 

Committee of China Culture Industries Promotion Association; Wu Hao, Vice President of the Dragon Boat Culture Professional Committee of China Culture 

Industries Promotion Association; Shi Xiuming, Secretary of the CPC Huinan County Committee; Su Xinjie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Huinan County 

Committee and County Magistrate of Huinan County People’s Government attended the opening ceremony.

The leaders and guests performed the dragon eye-dotting ceremony, which brought the atmosphere to a climax. All attendees and audiences were immersed 

in the poetic romance of the icy scenery.

The competition attracted 20 teams and nearly 500 athletes from across the country, including Zhejiang, Jilin, Guangdong, Hong Kong, Liaoning, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Tianjin, Jiangsu and Heilongjiang.

       The events consist of the 200m straight race for 12-person ice dragon boats, the 100m straight race for 5-person ice dragon boats, as well as the spectacular 400m drifting turn-back race for 12-person ice dragon boats.

At the starting signal, the poised ice dragon boats instantly broke the silence of the ice surface. Along the track, ice picks struck 

rhythmically like rolling war drums, splashing countless ice crystals into the air. The speeding boats roared like powerful engines, 

drawing all eyes to the race. Cheers and applause intertwined and rose high. Every strenuous sprint fully demonstrated the strength 

of teamwork and perseverance, leaving breathtaking trails on the ice.


Compared with the previous event, this year’s Huinan stop features more diversified activities, creating an integrated experience of 

competition + parade + gala + tourism + e-commerce.


The grand Dragon Roaming in Snow festival parade was held on Fuqiang Street on the afternoon of December 31. Composed of five 

formations including motorcycle performances, dragon boat delegations, mascots, dragon and lion dances, as well as representatives 

of northern and southern dragon boat teams, the parade presented the thrilling vitality under freezing temperatures and attracted 

numerous local residents and tourists to watch.

The New Year’s Eve Gala together with the drone and fireworks show was splendidly held at the People’s Park Square that night.

       Athletes, accompanying media crews and tourists gathered together to welcome the year 2026 amid spectacular drone formations, brilliant 

fireworks and upbeat bonfire DJ music, creating an enthusiastic and vibrant New Year atmosphere.

         Combined with the event, distinctive tourist routes were launched together with the Travel with the Competition campaign. On January 2, 

2026, participants will visit the Diaoshuilou Waterfall to experience outdoor activities including ice hiking, ice wall climbing and ice waterfall 

exploration, and admire the magnificent winter natural wonders of Huinan.


          Agricultural live-streaming sales were also held concurrently during the event. Local specialty agricultural products of Huinan were promoted 

via online platforms, realizing the model of sports as the stage, economy as the performance, and supporting rural revitalization.

        The 2025–2026 Ice Dragon Super League (Huinan Stop) has transcended the scope of traditional sports events and evolved into 

a comprehensive ice-snow festival integrating sports, culture, tourism and consumption. Taking ice as its stage and competitions as its 

bond, the event vividly embodies the theme of Mysterious Ice Wonderland, Joyful Tour in Huinan. It serves as an innovative practice for 

Huinan County in responding to the national initiative of encouraging 300 million people to engage in ice and snow sportsand thoroughly 

implementing the development strategy of ice-snow economy.

        Through the integrated model of sports + culture & tourism + consumption, the event has effectively activated local winter tourism 

resources, boosted distinctive regional consumption, and provided a dynamic platform for the popularization of ice and snow sports. It marks 

the upgrade of the Ice Dragon Super League from a unique sporting event into an important platform that drives high-quality development of 

the ice-snow economy in Jilin Province and even Northeast China, and promotes the creative transformation of dragon boat cultural heritage. 

Thus, it injects robust vitality and impetus into regional coordinated development and cultural prosperity.

The 2025–2026 Ice Dragon Super League features extensive coverage and great influence. Its event regions span Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with athletes participating from all over China and overseas.

       The league will move to Fushun, Liaoning on January 10 for its next stop. More wonderful moments are waiting for you!
