As a key event of the 12th National Mass Ice and Snow Sports Season and the 2nd Jilin Provincial Mass Ice and Snow Sports Meeting, this stop

gathers ten elite teams from across the country. Competing fiercely in speed, strength and teamwork on the frozen lake surface, it kicks off a

splendid prelude to the New Year ice and snow sports gala of the Spring City of Northern China.

Guided by the International Ice Dragon Boat Federation and China Culture Industries Promotion Association, this competition

is co-hosted by the Dragon Boat Culture Professional Committee of China Culture Industries Promotion Association and Jilin

Provincial Sports Bureau, undertaken by Changchun Municipal Sports Bureau, and co-organized by Changchun Gymnasium. Upholding the tenet of **inheriting the millennia-old cultural heritage and forging ahead with the tides of the times,  the event

innovatively integrates traditional Chinese dragon boat culture with modern ice and snow sports. It is more than a sports

competition, but also an important platform for boosting ice-snow economy, promoting cultural-tourism integration and showcasing

the unique charm of Jilin’s ice and snow resources.

A variety of events are arranged for the Changchun stop, including the 12-person ice dragon boat straight exhibition race,

5-person junior slalom race, and ice dragon boat tug-of-war.

Multiple teams from Guangdong, Hunan, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Yunnan, Tianjin and other regions have gathered here,

among which six teams stand out remarkably:

The Guangdong Talang Dragon Boat Team traveling north from southern China to embrace ice and snow challenges; the Changsha

Dragon Boat Association Team of Hunan with an average athlete age of merely 35; the powerful Inner Mongolia Xilingol Grassland

Dragon Boat Team rooted in the 14th National Winter Games; the well-structured Hebei 279 Dragon Boat Team; the Yunnan Minzu

University Dragon Boat Team composed of multi-ethnic college students; and the Tianjin University of Sport Dragon Boat Team

with outstanding achievements in sports-education integration.

Their participation vividly embodies the national promotion pattern of “expanding northern ice and snow sports to southern China“.

The Ice Dragon Super League follows Jilin Province’s strategic arrangement to vigorously develop cold-region ice and snow economy.

Through an industrial linkage model of sports, cultural tourism and integrated media, it expands professional competitions into accessible ice and snow festival activities for public participation, experience and consumption, such as parades, ice recreational events, ice-themed creative markets and mobile caravan activities.

The league effectively promotes the growth of local catering, accommodation, tourism, sports equipment and other related industries, truly turning cold resources into hot economy. It injects new sports momentum into the sustainable development of public ice and snow sports in the post-Winter Olympics era and the revitalization of Northeast China.

In addition, a distinctive youth flash mob event held prior to the competition added vibrant highlights to the league. With their enthusiastic

performances, young participants cheered for the Ice Dragon Super League, demonstrating the broad appeal of ice and snow sports among teenagers.
