Ice Super League Ignites Ice Dragon Boat Carnival: 2025–2026 Ice Dragon Super League Yichun Tangwanghe Stop Opens
The Ice Super League · 2025-2026 Ice Dragon Super League and the Inaugural Yichun Ice Dragon Super League Opening Match officially kicked off on the ice surface of the Tangwanghe Natural Oxygen Bar in Tangwang County. It presented visitors with a grand winter feast integrating natural landscapes, sports and cultural experiences, and ice-snow entertainment.

Competition Venue
The event consists of 12-person ice dragon boat and 5-person ice dragon boat categories, with races including 100m and 200m straight sprint races as
well as 400m drifting turn-back races. A total of 18 teams and around 500 athletes from across the country, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning,
Inner Mongolia, Harbin, Daqing, Guangdong and Foshan, took part in the competition.

At the referee’s command, ice dragon boats surged off the starting line and forged ahead. With synchronized strokes of ice picks and splashing ice shards flying everywhere, a fierce race unfolded on the 40-centimeter-thick ice surface. The athletes moved in perfect unison, with resounding shouts echoing across the venue. The powerful strikes of ice picks against the ice propelled the boats forward at great speed, fully demonstrating the unique speed and passion of ice dragon boat racing.
Luo Zhongyi, President of the Dragon Boat Culture Professional Committee of China Culture Industries Promotion Association, stated that ice dragon boat is an innovative development of traditional dragon boat sports. It retains the technical skills and competitive nature of traditional dragon boat racing, and serves as a brand-new ice sport integrating competitiveness, teamwork and entertainment.

The 2025–2026 Ice Dragon Super League has not only added a distinctive event to Yichun’s winter tourism, but also created a unique urban sports IP for the city. As an emerging public ice sport, ice dragon boat racing represents the trend of entertaining and popular ice-snow sports. It attracts more tourists to learn about and experience Yichun, bringing brand-new vitality and glamour to the city.

Based on previous classic events, this year’s Ice Dragon Super League has been fully upgraded. Starting from December 26, warm-up activities kicked off, centering on the Dragon Roaming in Snow parade, ice-snow experience activities and local snack tasting. These events brought the grand public sports and cultural festival of Tangwang County to a climax, and endowed the city with brand-new glamour.
Meanwhile, the North-South Friendship Bonfire Party in the evening with lively songs and dances allowed more than 500 dragon boat athletes from across
the country to experience the hospitality of people in the forest region.

Guided by the China Culture Industries Promotion Association, this event is hosted by the Dragon Boat Culture Professional Committee of China Culture Industries Promotion Association, Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau and the People’s Government of Yichun City. Undertaken by Yichun Municipal Sports Bureau and the People’s Government of Tangwang County, with support from Yichun Sen Gong Tangwanghe Forestry Bureau Co., Ltd. and Yichun Sen Gong Wuyiling Forestry Bureau Co., Ltd.
It is reported that starting from December 26, the 2025–2026 Ice Dragon Super League will be successively held in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia.
