Quebec is a melting pot of diverse cultures, often described as the crossroads of Europe and America. Here, people can experience
the charms of American, French, and British cultures simultaneously; hosting this International Ice Dragon Boat Series has added
traditional Chinese culture to this mix.
The smiles on everyone’s faces reflected their love for ice dragon boat racing and the Chinese dragon culture.
As the grand finale of the 2017-2018 International Ice Dragon Boat Series, this event left people with countless memorable moments and high hopes.
Luo Zhongyi, President of the International Ice Dragon Boat Federation (IIDBF), said, “Our goal is to bring ice dragon boat racing into the Olympic family.”
Currently, cities in multiple countries and regions are actively applying to host next year’s International Ice Dragon Boat Series, while countries such as Russia,
France, and Hungary are also applying to become IIDBF member states. With people’s passion and aspirations, and the sport’s growing popularity and
development, this goal is surely within reach.
