As the World Ice Dragon Boat Club Championships proceed intensely, all competitions have entered the final stage. As the largest-scale ice dragon boat
event of the year, it has received coverage from major Chinese and foreign media outlets, including Xinhua News Agency, People's Network, Global News,
China News Network, Phoenix TV, Eastday, Sina, Sohu, as well as Canada's CTV and Ottawa Citizen.
Diplomats from the Chinese Embassy in Canada and Global Affairs Canada jointly formed the "Polar Pandas" team, donning red
"battle uniforms" to compete for the third consecutive year.
Lu Shaye, Chinese Ambassador to Canada, who went to the venue to watch the competition, stated that with their tenacious struggle, the joint team
of Chinese and Canadian diplomats once again demonstrated the spirit of solidarity and cooperation between them. As a cultural exchange activity,
the Ice Dragon Boat Festival is conducive to promoting friendship between the Chinese and Canadian people and developing bilateral relations.
In early 2017, planned by the International Ice Dragon Boat Federation (IIDBF) and supported by the Chinese Embassy in Canada and
Canadian officials, the Ottawa Dragon Boat Club held the first Ice Dragon Boat Festival. Today, the Ice Dragon Boat Festival, which attracts tens
of thousands of people to participate every year, has become one of the popular winter events in the local area. It has realized the organic integration
of the Chinese Spring Festival, dragon boat, and Canadian ice and snow culture.
