The International Ice Dragon Boat Federation's 2nd World Ice Dragon Boat Championships (IIDBF) kicked off spectacularly

 On February 8, 2020 (local time), the 2nd World Ice Dragon Boat Championships of the International Ice Dragon Boat Federation (IIDBF) started as scheduled in Ottawa, Canada. This tournament brought together 125 teams from countries including Canada, China, India, Iran, Japan, the United States, and Armenia to compete.

At the opening ceremony, with special performances and a gun salute, the second World Ice Dragon Boat Championship officially commenced.




The World Ice Dragon Boat Championships is a high-level annual ice dragon boat event, which has received exceptional support from the Chinese 

Embassy in Canada, the Canadian Department of Canadian Heritage, the Government of Canada's Department of the Environment,

and the National Capital Commission (NCC) of Canada. Cong Peiwu.

After three years of practice and development, the IIDBF Championship-level events have grown in scale and become more mature in form,

 leading the way for the development of ice dragon boat competitions.

The competitive scenes are beyond description; speed and passion are always present, and they remain the classic moments not to be missed in every event.



A team named "Polar Pandas" was jiontly formed by the Chinese Embassy in Canada and Global Affairs Canada. It becomes highly 

reprenteative team at the tournament, and their red team uniform also made the extremely eye-catching  on the filed.

Since the first ice dragon boat race was held in Ottawa in 2017, ice dragon boating has gained increasing popularity among people in Canada and other countries worldwide. After four years of development, it has achieved the organic integration of Chinese Spring Festival culture, dragon boat culture, and Canadian ice and snow culture.

The Chinese teams showed significant momentum. Beyond the competition, they shouted the slogan "Go China! Go Wuhan!" to cheer for the people fighting on the frontline against the virus back in their motherland.

The event featured diverse forms, combining competition with entertainment. Many teams took the field in cosplay costumes, endowing the tournament with more entertaining features and room for diversified development.



The spectators stands were buzzing with excitement, and every smiling face perfectly reflected people's enthusiasm for participanting

 in and wating the event.



At the awards ceremony, applause and honor also became unforgettable and wonderful moments for every participant.


The participants are still immersed in the excitement of the first day's competition and celebrating. That is a world-renowned ice and snow dragon boat 

feast. From February 8 to 9th (local time), the 2nd World Ice Dragon Boat Championships is in full swing. For event details, exciting highlights, and
